On 31 May 2022, UNREC participated in the online OCT event on the UN Multi-year appeal for Counter-Terrorism as a facilitating conduit for coordinating UN action on preventing and countering terrorism and violent extremism in Africa.

On 19 and 20 May 2022, UNREC was on mission to Abuja to discuss with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission on ways and means to enhance cooperation and synergies to advance peace, security and arms control in West Africa based on respective strategic plans and comparative advantages. Working sessions were held with the Peacekeeping and Regional Security Directorate of the ECOWAS Commission’s Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security. UNREC also met with the Director of Early Warning to discuss early warning as a means to contribute to peace and security in the region from a human security perspective. The mission team also paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy National Coordinator of the Nigerian Centre for Control of SALW.

On 14 May 2022, UNREC provided inputs to the CAMYOSFOP call for application to the course on diplomacy of arms control, proliferation and disarmament (DACPD). Though the course is to be Continental, the inaugural Course is opened to Cameroonians and will be hosted by the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) in September.

On 09 May 2022, UNREC participated in a virtual CASA coordination meeting.

UNREC submitted testimonial videos to UNOCA as per their request related to the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of UNSAC.

On 28 April 2022, UNREC hosted the Monthly UNCT-Togo meeting which focused on joint evaluation and programming.

On 27 April 2022, UNREC had a conference call with UNOCA-ITF meeting on Equatorial Guinea.

On 25 April 2022, UNREC participated in the monthly meeting conducted by the Coordination Mechanism on Gender and SALW control project. Participants included members of Small Arms Survey, IANSA, UNIDIR, WILPF, among others.
