 On 11 June 2021, UNREC participated in a director-level UNOCA-ITF meeting with SRSG Fall (UNOCA) on his briefing to the Security Council on the situation in Central Africa.

 On 11 June 2021, UNREC met the newly appointed General Delegate for peace and security of the West-African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA-WAEMU), Mr. Paul Robert Tiendrebeogo, formerly Minister for foreign affairs and the diaspora of Burkina Faso. While transiting in LomĂ©, Mr. Tiendrebeogo requested a meeting with UNREC Director to personally extend to him an invitation to attend a EUMOA meeting with National Commissions on SALW from the regional body’s eight Member States scheduled for 13- 16 July in Dakar Senegal. The meeting aims to devise sound strategies to combat the illicit flow of SALW in a context of instability in the region fuelled by extremist groups, particularly foreign terrorist fighters (FTFs). He further requested the revitalization of UNREC/ODA and UEMOA cooperation.

Still on 09 June 2021, UNREC and CAB participated in an online consultation with the African Development Bank (AfDB) on possible avenues for cooperation on fragility, resilience and peace and security in Africa, including in complementarity with the SALIENT initiative.

 On 08 June 2021, UNREC participated in a tripartite online meeting with a visiting OROLSI delegation to UNOCA on current activities and possible entry points for enhanced partnership drawing on respective comparative advantages of OROLSI, UNOCA and UNREC/ODA.

 On 03 June 2021, UNREC took part in a Virtual meeting between SRSG François LouncĂ©ny Fall and UN presences in Central Africa on "Enhancing partnerships towards peace-building and conflict prevention in Central Africa sub-region”.

 On the 25 May 2021, UNREC participated in a one-day workshop on gender mainstreaming in the control of small arms and light weapons in Togo, organized by the Women International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF Togo) in collaboration with the Gender Equality Network for Small Arms Control (GENSAC).

 On 4 May 2021, the UNDSS security Advisor held an online refresher briefing for UNREC staff members on security measures for UN Staffs and dependents. This refresher briefing took place in the framework of a decision of the local SMT to provide refresher training to staff Members of all UN Agencies in the host country following and upsurge in security issues.
