From 28 November to 3 December 2021 in Togo, UNREC participated in a WAM baseline study conducted in Togo by UNIDIR for the Economic Community of West African States – ECOWAS.

On 25 November 2021, UNREC participated in a special UNCT session with UNICEF Regional Director on official visit to Togo, focusing on emerging issues including peace and security.

From 24 to 26 November 2021, UNREC hosted the joint ODA-DPO pilot workshop on WAM in Peacekeeping missions (in person workshop).

On 24 November 2021, UNREC had a virtual meeting with a Representative from the US Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, discussing possible UNREC involvement in an arm marking and PSSM project in the DRC.

On 23 November 2021, UNREC held discussions with the Consultant of UNIDIR, Mr. Mohamed Lamine Coulibaly to prepare for the joint WAM baseline assessment mission in Togo to be conducted in Lomé from 30 November to 3 December 2021 by the Economic Community of West-African States (ECOWAS) with technical support from UNIDIR, UNREC, AMAT and MAG.

On 23 November 2021, UNREC participated in the workshop organised by the Fondation pour la Recherche Strategique on the Hague Code of Conduct on Weapons of Mass Destruction. UNREC provided a general presentation of its work on SALW control in the region, as well on the support provided by the RIODB to the UNSC Resolution 1540 Committee for the implementation of initiatives to counter the proliferation of WMD in Africa.

From 22 to 30 November 2021, AMAT experts carried out an assessment mission of special ammunition in Lomé, Kara and Niamtougou, in response to a request for assistance sent to UNREC by the Government of Togo.

From 22 to 26 November 2021, UNREC participated in the 52nd Meeting of the United Nations Standing Advisory Committee on Security in Central Africa (UNSAC) and presented activities of the Regional Centre for the last six months. Extensive bilateral consultations with Member States have also been undertaken.
